I find this odd.
I recently purchased a book from an online used book dealer.
*The Romanov Ransom* by Anne Armstrong Thompson
To all Friends of the Lexington Public Library
Anne Armstrong Thompson
Thompson is from Lexington KY. Doesn't it seem odd that the public library would discard a book inscribed by a local author? Current Mood: curious

Two swell kids
who promise to be good
--the next time!
Also, in the cover of the same book:With love to Anita from the Rummage Sale.

On the inside cover of a used copy of Allen Ginsberg's Reality Sandwiches
obtained over last Christmas, written in label-maker, no less:
"To Ms. Chugani,
From someone that always understood."
On the next, blank, page, still in thick black label-maker writing:
"What I regret
the roads I journeyed
down that got
me where I'm at
But all the signs
that I ignored
that said to me
On the inside of the back cover:
Additionally, there are three marks on the front cover that are clearly from pieces of label-maker being peeled off. My biggest question is, why did Ms. Chugani give it away?

23 days before I was born. Typos are sic.
Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
This is a very special little book, for it may serve as a special carpet with which to jouney to beautiful places that few to many visit.
Like you my love, this is an extraordinarly special book, so what finer thing than for the very special book to belong to a very
special little girl.
I love you,
Bertrand Russell, On God and Religion
give it back!
P.S. "God, you gave us
insufficient proof!" -B.R.

This is my first post. I used to work in a charity shop, so found some odd things in books. The most notable was someone's wedding snap.
I bought this book about a month ago:
In a copy of Elegance
by Kathleen Tessaro
Your's in spades darling
which becomes more poignant after you look on Amazon - the book was released on the 5th Jan 2004.
Guess that didn't work out then.
Ironically, the tagline says "True love never goes out of fashion" Current Mood: melancholy
